Compact PoE-powered 5G RedCap antenna system with versatile mounting that plugs into any UniFi PoE port to provide automatic internet backup.

The UniFi 5G Backup (U5G) is a compact failover solution designed to automatically protect any UniFi network from internet outages. Unlike traditional backup modems, this device does not connect to the gateway's WAN port; instead, it simply plugs into an available PoE switch port within the local area network (LAN). As soon as the primary internet connection drops, the U5G automatically establishes a secure GRE tunnel to seamlessly reroute traffic over the cellular network. Because the device is PoE-powered and communicates via the LAN, it can be flexibly installed in the location with the best cellular reception.

The system utilizes innovative 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) technology, offering a highly reliable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective connection with download speeds up to 220 Mbps on 5G and 195 Mbps on 4G LTE. Thanks to the included mounting kits, the device can easily be placed on a desktop, mounted on a wall, or attached directly to a window. Management is fully centralized via the familiar UniFi Network application (version 10.4.57 or later), allowing you to flexibly switch between the integrated eSIM or a physical Nano-SIM.
